Grass-Fed Angus Beef, Pork & Lamb

Humanely Raised, Organic & Antibiotic-Free

We select organic grass-fed Angus beef, pork, sausage, ham, bacon, and lamb products that are humanely raised on local farms. Our suppliers have pledged to maintain their herds to be free from the unwarranted use of antibiotics, steroids, and other agents you aren’t likely to want in your meal. We also seek out sustainably sourced West Virginia trout for your dining pleasure.

Cruelty-Free, Organic & Antibiotic-Free

When it comes to chicken, turkey, and eggs, it just doesn’t get any fresher. We collect fresh eggs from our farm suppliers right here in the local area. These products are cage-free, truly free-range, fed an organic, antibiotic-free diet without any unnecessary chemical agents, and produced in a cruelty-free manner.

Heirloom Organic Products

Local Produce, Milk, Cheese, Butter, Honey, Jams & Artisanal Items

We source the finest in-season heirloom tomatoes, greens, berries, fruits, herbs, vegetables and other produce and food ingredients from small local farms whenever possible. Our suppliers include Green Acres Produce, Flying W Farms, and local Amish and community farmers. Our shoppers search high and low for organic and artisanal locally produced grains, honeys, jams, jellies, preserves, real maple syrup, and other farm-fresh ingredients, as well as rare seasonal items such as gooseberries, black raspberries, morel mushrooms, and other unique items we think you’ll love.

Our Farm-to-Table Policy

At Deer Park Inn, we follow a Farm-to-Table Policy to the greatest extent possible. We choose locally-grown and organic ingredients at every opportunity. We preferentially select ingredients that have been crafted with care by our trusted local food stewards. These farmers, ranchers, and craft food makers take great care in providing the finest possible ingredients with fierce Mountaineer pride and integrity. For ingredients that are not produced locally, such as coffees, teas, black pepper, spices, and similar items, we carefully vet our suppliers and choose the highest possible quality – just as you would at home. Rest assured that we prioritize the selection of organic ingredients and those that are produced sustainably, fairly traded, and cruelty-free.

We often feature fresh local wildflowers (in-season) throughout the lodge, offer after-dinner entertainment, light candles to enhance the atmosphere, set a fire in the fireplace to dispel chill, play pleasant background music – and we always serve up plenty of delicious food for your enjoyment.

For Your Enjoyment

Our culinary team serves and presents your meal in the traditional manner, with poise, respect, and hospitality. When you dine with us, you will notice that we follow southern-style American dining etiquette to provide a higher level of service. If you’re a little rusty on your upscale dining etiquette, we assure you we won’t hold it against you (really). You don’t have to memorize which fork to use, either. We’re not “that” type of place. Our level of service is for your enjoyment, not ours. The following is what you can expect:

Ladies First

  • Ladies are presented with their menus first.
  • Ladies have the opportunity to order first.
  • We serve ladies first.

Serving Etiquette

  • We serve clockwise around the table from the lady of distinction onward.
  • We know who ordered each entree and serve appropriately.
  • We serve your protein facing you (as opposed to starches and vegetables).
  • We will not intrude on your time with unwanted informal conversation.
  • We try to anticipate your needs and bring items to you without you having to ask.
  • We serve to your left side.
  • We clear from your right side.
  • We serve clockwise around the table from the lady of distinction onward.
